The GTNS races for Italy are:
- Dolomiti Beer Trail
- Ledro Sky
- Dolomyths Run
- GTNS IT national final is Transpelmo.
IT IS EACH INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE’S RESPONSIBILITY TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE.
RANKING POINTS BREAKDOWN - 1st to 30th:
- Runners must participate in at least two of the series' races, and reach the top 3 to be invited to the GTNS Grand Final.
- If a runner reaches the top 3 on at least one of the qualifying races he/she will be invited to the GTNS IT national final.
- Every runner can sign up for the national final, even if they did not reach the top 3 on one of the qualifying races before.
- The overall ranking will take into account each runner’s 2 best results from the qualifying races plus the result of the national final.
- Last Race, Transpelmo, is mandatory to be eligible to represent Italy at the GTNS Grand Finals and in this race the points are double.
The GTNS IT top 2 Men and Women, and the top 1 U23 Men and Women in the overall ranking will receive tickets* for the GTNS Grand Final.
U23 means that the athlete will not turn 23 years old in 2024.
In the event there is a tie:
1- The best place on one of the GTNS IT qualifying race
2- The second place on one of the GTNS IT qualifying race
3- The third place on one of the GTNS IT qualifying race
This Grand Final will gather all the different GTNS (GTNS FR-BEL / GTNS SP-POR/ GTNS IT / GTNS UK / GTNS CZE-SK-POL/ GTNS GER-AUT-CH/ GTNS US-CAN/ GTNS MEXICO/ GTNS NORDICS, etc).
If an athlete did not finish in the top 2 or top 1 U23 of the national ranking, he/she will have the possibility to participate in the GTNS Grand Final on his/her own.
There is
only one category per gender: Overall male and overall female.
Every runner
is treated equally, has to meet the same requirements and needs to run the same
distance.
Each qualifying race in the series qualifies the Top3 M&W athletes directly for the national final (Transpelmo):
1st: accommodation + bib
2nd: bib
3rd: bib
The Top2 M&W + the Top1 U23 M&W from the GTNS final ranking after the Final (Transpelmo) will receive their tickets for the GTNS Grand Final 2024. Therefore, they will receive financial support* up to the maximum sum specified in the GTNS Grand Final 2024 rules to participate in the GTNS Grand Final, and receive free and guaranteed race bib.
If a U23 runner finishes in the top 2, the third slot goes to the next young runner in the race ranking.
The confirmation to take part to the final will be 3 days after the Transpelmo. If some of the top three athletes didn't reply to the organizers or can not go to the Grand final, it will be GTNS Italy who will decide who can go to replace him/her.
*Ticket: [race bib]+ [accommodation]+ [transport in the maximum sum specified up to €300 from Europe to Europe]. To receive this support, the athlete must provide an invoice to Amer Sports Italy with all the travel expenses done by the athlete as a vendor.
** U23 means that the athlete will not turn 23 years old on 2024.
Races' cancellations
If there are a race cancellations, the rule will apply as below:
– In the event of cancellation of one race, only two races will count for the overall GTNS IT classification, and points for order of finish will be the same for all races.
Injuries
In the event of injury and the inability to compete before the competition, the runner who would have won a ticket for the GTNS Grand Final, or for the GTC, will not receive any compensation, will lose his/her ticket, and will not receive travel expenses.
