SHARED BY THE TOP 20 OF THE OVERALL RANKING
The top 10 men and women from the Golden Trail World Series 2023 overall ranking will receive free race bibs to all the GTWS 2024 races and are invited to participate in the races of the GTWS 2024, under the condition they pre-register/compete on a minimum of 4 races in the GTWS 2024.
Additionally, if they pre-register to a minimum of 4 GTWS 2024 races, the GTS will cover the athletes’ following invitations:
FOR ALL THE RACES (If the athlete is not part of the top 10 GTWS 2023 overall ranking):
– An athlete who finishes in the top 10 in a GTWS race, or who’s in the Top 10 overall ranking, is invited to another race in the Series.
– After the 8 races, all the athletes that rank in the top 30 on points at the end, will received financial support from the GTWS (travel, accommodation & meals) to participate in the Grand Final.
=> Attention, to be in the final general classification of the GTWS 2024, the grand finale is mandatory.
– All other athletes with GTWS points who wish to participate in the final are welcome. They will be able to continue to score points hoping to become Golden Trail World Elite Athletes by finishing in the Top 30 of the final general classification.
– In parallel of this final, we will have the individual ranking of the GTNS with Golden Tickets to be won, as well, the team ranking of the GTNS to find out which is the best GTNS in the world!
– If you wish to participate in the competition while you are not selected by the GTNS or the GTWS, you will be part of the scratch classification of the race but you won’t be part of the GTNS Ranking.
– Runners in the Top 30 of the 2024 Final General Classification will be considered Golden Trail World Elites and will get a free bib for the races of their choice in the GTWS 2025.
– The Top 20 of the GTWS 2024 General Classification will be invited to participate in the races of their choice of the GTWS 2025. They will be supported according to the invitation's package rules.
– Travelling from Europe to Europe: up to €300.
– Travelling for inter-continental travel: up to €1000.
ACCOMMODATION
– Accommodation when travelling within Europe: up to €300.
– Accommodation when travelling for inter-continental travel: up to €500.
TRANSPORT & ACCOMMODATION FOR THE TRIPS (US / ASIAN / EUROPEAN):
– Travelling on the same continent : up to €500.
– Travelling from another continent : up to €1000 (This must take into account all the flights from the round trip, between races included. For the US trip, we will cover the transfers between the races).
Once you arrive at the meeting point for each trip, transfer to the hotel will be provided if you arrive on the date requested by the GTWS organizers.
The hotels will be fully covered by the GTWS, breakfasts and dinners included.
NOTE : Accommodations are booked for 2 athletes by room.
=> If you want to come accompanied, the companion will have to pay half the price of the room + the meals.
The Top20 of the GTWS 2023 will receive the half support of the Top10.
* Athlete must provide all the invoices/receipts to claim payment. If the amount is below the maximum specified, the athlete will receive the exact amount of his/her expenses. If it is above the maximum specified, the athlete will not receive more than the maximum specified amount. Invoices for travel expenses and bonuses must be sent to contact@goldentrailseries.com.
Pre-registrations will open from January 1st to February 1st.
ALL GTWS RACES, including the Grand Final, are open to everyone.
Register directly with each race organiser via a web link that is provided on the details of each GTWS 2024 race.
Races of the GTWS are: Kobe Trail, Four Sisters Mountain Trail, Zegama-Aizkorri, Mont-Blanc Marathon, Sierre-Zinal, Tatra Sky Marathon, Headlands 27K and Mammoth 26K.
The final will take place, as a race + a prologue from the 17th to the 20th of October 2024.
Everyone can participate in the GTWS within the limit of race bibs available and at his/her personal expense.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH ATHLETE TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE .
RANKING POINTS BREAKDOWN FOR EACH GTWS RACES -1st to 60th:
After the 8 races, the Top 30 athletes* will be supported by the GTWS (Travel, accommodation, food) to participate in the Grand Final.
(*The runners will be ranked considering the number of points from the best 4 results out of 8.)
=> Attention, to be in the final general classification of the GTWS 2024, the Grand Final is mandatory.
- All other athletes with GTWS points who wish to participate in the final are welcome. They will be able to continue to score points to hope to become Golden Trail World Elite Athletes by finishing in the Top 30 of the final general classification.
- If you wish to participate in the competition while you are not selected by the GTNS or the GTWS, you will be part of the scratch classification of the race.
- The final will start with a time trial two days before the final race with 100 points awarded to the winners. The first 30 of the general GTWS classification after the prologue will be placed on the first lines of the start of the big final race which will award 300 points to the winners.
- Runners in the Top 30 of the 2024 Final General Classification will be considered Golden Trail World Elites and will get a free bib for the races of their choice in the GTWS 2025.
- The Top 20 of the GTWS 2024 General Classification will be invited to participate in the races of their choice of the GTWS 2025. They will be supported according to the GTWS support rules.
- During the final, half of the GTWS classic ranking points will be given during the prologue (100 points) & 300 points during the final race. So, 400 points in total for the winners.

In the event of injury and inability to compete before the competition, the runner who would have won his ticket for the GTWS Grand Final will not receive any compensation, he/she will lose the ticket and will not receive travel expenses.
World Elites
THE TOP 30:
After the 8 races, the Top 30 athletes will be supported* by the GTWS (travel, accommodation, food) to participate in the Grand Final.
*Travel expenses = in the maximum specified sum: €600 and €1,500 for runners travelling from overseas. The journey includes accommodation, meals & transfers.
The GTNS Individual Ranking
In 2024, the GTNS Grand Final will be the same race as the International Elite’s TRAIL RACE GTWS FINAL.
THE Top2 M&W (or Top1 minimum) + the winners of the under 23 M&W from EACH GTNS* will be fully** invited to the Grand Final in the “GTNS CATEGORY”.
This ranking will take into account only the athletes selected by the GTNS from all over the world.
3 different rankings M&W: 1 for the World Elites, 1 for the National Elites, 1 for the under 23 (prize money for both categories).
* IF AN ATHLETE IS IN THE TOP 2 OF A GTNS, BUT ALSO IN THE TOP 30 OF THE GTWS AFTER 8 RACES, THE INVITATION WILL BE FOR THE FOLLOWING ATHLETE OF THE GTNS.
** WITHIN THE GTNS BUDGET’S LIMIT SPECIFIED IN THE RULES (600€ TO TRAVEL TO THE SAME CONTINENT/1500€ TO TRAVEL TO ANOTHER CONTINENT).
GTNS Teams Category
The GTNS Teams will be represented by the Top 2 M&W (OR TOP 1 MINIMUM) + the winners of the under 23 category M&W of each GTNS.
The GTNS Team ranking will be determined using the TIME from the best M&W + the under 23 M&W of each GTNS from each stage during the GTNS FINAL (prologue + main race).
The TOP 3 GTNS Team will get access to prize money.
The final race is open to all.
The GTWS respects parity, we are giving the same prize money to men and women.

INDIVIDUAL GTNS U23 RANKING M&W:
For the GTNS FINAL, the GTS will award bonuses to the Top 3 U23 athletes (Men & Women) as follows:
1st place: €1,500
2nd place: €1,000
3rd place: €500
If U23 athletes finish in the Top 3 overall of the GTNS ranking, they will earn a Golden Ticket, and the prize money will be cumulative.

€300,000 PRIZE PURSE AT THE GTS 2024 with the addition of the organizers bonuses.
Any competitor expressly waives the right to any images during the GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES, as he renounces all re-course against the organizer and his authorized partners for the use made of his images.
