RULES

RACES OF THE GTNS AUS

The GTNS races for Australia are: Donna Double, Kunanyi Mountain Run, Coastal Ascent and the GTNS AUS national final is Brisbane Trail Ultra.

IT IS EACH INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE’S RESPONSIBILITY TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE.

QUALIFICATION SYSTEM

RUNNERS MUST PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST 2 OUT OF 3 RACES BEFORE THE NATIONAL FINAL TO RECEIVE AN INVITATION TO THE GTWS GRAND FINAL AFTER THE GTNS AUS NATIONAL FINAL. 

EACH RACE (DONNA DOUBLE, KUNANYI MOUNTAIN RUN, COASTAL ASCENT) WILL GIVE AN INVITATION TO THE NATIONAL FINAL (BRISBANE TRAIL ULTRA 20KM) TO 3 MEN ATHLETES + 3 WOMEN ATHLETES. THESE 3 INVITATIONS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED LIKE THIS : TOP 2 M&W + BEST YOUNG RUNNER M&W (UNDER 23 YEARS) (IF A YOUNG RUNNER FINISHES IN THE TOP 2, THE THIRD SLOT GOES TO THE NEXT YOUNG RUNNER IN THE RACE RANKING).
 
IF A RUNNER DOESN’T SUCCEED TO GET AN INVITATION FROM A « QUALIFICATION » RACE, THEY WILL STILL BE ABLE TO GO TO THE NATIONAL FINAL IF HE/SHE TOOK PART TO AT LEAST TWO RACES. 

EACH RUNNER FINISHING IN THE TOP 30 M&W ON A QUALIFYING RACE WILL BE ABLE TO SCORE POINTS FOLLOWING THIS RANKING POINTS BREAKDOWN :

CATEGORY

There are two categories: 

Scratch Male and Scratch Female.

U23 Male and Female (the runner should be less than 23 years of age on the 31/12/2024)

RANKING SYSTEM

Each runner finishing in the Top 30 M&W on a qualifying race will be able to score points following this ranking points breakdown :

The runner will keep the points from his/her best results from the 3 qualifying races and will be able to score points on the final following the GTNS National Final ranking breakdown:

The athlete with the most points (2 qualifying race results + final) after the national final will be designated as the GTNS AUS winner!

PRIZES

The top male and female scratch winners + the under 23 male and female winners of each GTNS overall ranking will get their tickets to participate in the GTNS World Final. This means that they will have bib, accommodation and meals covered by the GTWS and transport covered by their GTNS.

The top 2 men and women of the GTNS World Final scratch + the GTNS winner under 23men and women will get a Golden Ticket for the GTWS 2025.

If an under 23 athlete(s) is part of the Top scratch, they will take the golden tickets “scratch” and will give the opportunity to another Under 23 years old athlete to get a Golden Ticket.

The Top 5 M&W from the OPEN CATEGORY from the GTNS GRAND FINAL will be able to win prize money if they finish in the TOP 5 of the overall stage race OPEN CATEGORY:

∙ 1st = €1,500 + Golden Ticket 2025

∙ 2nd = €1,250 + Golden Ticket 2025

∙ 3rd = €1,000 + Golden Ticket 2025

∙ 4th = €750

∙ 5th = €500
