Asia is back, Mexico takes the stage

After a successful first season in Asia in 2024, the Golden Trail World Series will be returning to Japan and China in 2025. Japan’s race will take place in Kobe as it did in 2024, and in China there will be a brand-new race on the Great Wall of China! Other big news includes two changes in the European leg: in May we return to Noli – on the 2023 final’s race course – and a first-ever race in Austria at the Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier trail in August. On the other side of the pond in the Americas, the Golden Trail Series lays out a new programme with the iconic Broken Arrow Skyrace followed by a first-time ever GTWS stage in Mexico: the Tepec Trail.

“We’re excited to unveil the 2025 calendar, with incredible new additions like Mexico’s Tepec Trail and a race on the Great Wall of China", announces Greg Vollet, Golden Trail Series Director. "Returning to Asia and introducing Austria’s Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail reflects our commitment to showcasing the best of trail running worldwide. 2025 promises to be an unforgettable season!”

3 races for a final

The GTWS 2025 has 8 regular races on its calendar like last season. Before the final, the three best results from each athlete will be counted for the overall ranking and, like 2023 and 2024, the points at the final will be doubled. The venue for the final will be announced at a later date.
