The Golden Trail World Series Comes Home With the Kinomap GTWS Challenge
The Golden Trail World Series (GTWS) brought the curtain down on their season last weekend at Muju Trail in South Korea, where Madalina Florea (Scott) and Elhousine Elazzaoui (NNormal) were once again crowned champions following two epic races, defined by a brutally demanding course and particularly challenging weather conditions. But the GTWS excitement doesn’t end with the Grand Finale: the GTWS Challenge now brings the experience of the series to Kinomap, where it will be available until 30 November.
The Kinomap GTWS Challenge invites fans to experience the Golden Trail World Series from home by virtually taking on some of the most spectacular sections from the eight races of the 2026 season. Using a treadmill and the Kinomap app, participants can travel across three continents, discover new landscapes and put themselves to the test stage after stage, bringing the GTWS experience right into their own homes.
AROUND THE WORLD WITH THE GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES
The GTWS season got underway in May with Zegama-Aizkorri in Spain, where the passion of the Basque fans once again spurred the runners on along the course of one of the world’s most iconic mountain marathons. Just one week later, the action moved to Ledro Sky Trentino in Italy, set among rugged peaks and historic First World War trenches.

In July, the Golden Trail World Series crossed the Atlantic for its first-ever visit to Canada with the Québec Mega Trail. With the season approaching its halfway point, the series returned to Europe for another demanding block of racing. First came the Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail in Austria, the most alpine race on the calendar, followed just seven days later by Sierre-Zinal in Switzerland. The “Cathedral of Trail Running” once again delivered one of the fastest and most fiercely contested races on the international trail-running calendar.
The road to the Grand Finale was then decided in Asia, first at Myoko Trail in Japan and then at the Jinshanling Great Wall Trail Race (China) the only race in the series to take runners across one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE AND UNLOCK THE GRAND FINALE
To complete the challenge, participants will need to finish at least five of the seven available races. Those who succeed will also unlock a special surprise: the Muju Trail Grand Finale, one of the toughest and most demanding courses in Golden Trail World Series history.
All participants will have the chance to win a pair of Salomon S/LAB Genesis 2 shoes, a Salomon ACTIVE SKIN 4vest and aSalomon S/LAB Ultra Summer cap.
The GTWS Challenge is available exclusively on Kinomap until 30 November. Kinomap is an interactive training platform for cycling, running and rowing, and an official partner of the Golden Trail World Series.
