Here's a rundown of the favourites for the Marathon du Mont-Blanc, 2024 GTWS 4th stage:

Women's line-up

After injury prevented her from running in the early part of the season, Sophia Laukli (USA – Salomon) should now be lining up at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc. If she is back in shape, she will be hard to beat. That said, she should watch out for the inexhaustible Maude Mathys (CHE – Asics) who won the first leg in Japan and finished second in the stage in China. The other highly-anticipated come back is Mădălina Florea (ROM – Salomon) who won the GTWS 2023 final and just proved her form at the European Championships. All eyes will be on Judith Wyder(CHE – Hoka) at this Marathon du Mont-Blanc as well, 2nd in the 2023 GTWS overall ranking and she will definitely have her sights on the top step of this podium. After finishing 2nd in last year's race, Miao Yao (CHN – Salomon) will be a serious contender for the podium, she finished 6th in the stage in China in April. On the start line we will also see Clémentine Geoffray (FRA – Kiprun), Sylvia Nordskar (NOR – Hoka), Theres Leboeuf (CHE – Leboeuf/Compressport), Caitlin Fielder (NZL – Salomon) and Sunmaya BUDDHA (NPL – Kailas Fuga).

Men's line-up

We've been eagerly-awaited his return, will Rémi Bonnet (CHE – Salomon), winner of both seasons 2022 and 2023, be in peak form for his first Golden Trail Series race of the season? He will be up against Elhousine Elazzaoui (MAR – Nnormal), current leader of the Series and 3-time podium finisher since the beginning of this season. The recent European Champion of the "Up and Down", Roberto Delorenzi (CHE – Brooks) is also a podium player. Bart Przedwojewski (POL – Salomon) is in great shape this season, he proved it at Zegama by finishing on the podium just behind Kilian Jornet and Elhousine Elazzaoui. So, keep an eye on him at this Marathon du Mont-Blanc. Daniel Pattis (ITA – Brooks) claimed his first podium in China and will be keen to repeat the feat at the Mont-Blanc. Others to keep an eye on include Robert Pkemoi (KEN – Joma), Frédéric Tranchand (FRA – Scott), Francesco Puppi (ITA – Nike Trail), Anthony Felber (FRA – Sidas X Matryx) and Cesare Maestri (ITA – Nike Trail).
